No Stopping Zone on Beach Rd
28th April 2010
Work is currently underway to get a 'No Stopping zone' instituted along Beach Rd (Route 33) from 6am - 10am Saturday and Sunday. Currently both Port Philip and Kingston councils have approved trials of a 'No Stopping zone' and appropriate signage is now up. However, Bayside council has not approved the proposal for their section of Route 33.
A number of people have worked very hard for this cause for a number of years and are planning to submit a petition to council of cyclists, motorists and residents who support this proposal.
If you agree that a 'No Stopping zone' will improve cyclist safety and improve traffic flow along Route 33 on Saturday and Sunday mornings, please:
A) Download the petition
B) sign it and get as many others as you can to sign it (eg, take it on your next group ride, ask your friends if they will support it and talk to your neighbours)
C) send it back to the PO Box listed at the base of the petition
